Handball as a motivating factor

The ones who know me, know that I live and breath for the handball. I take part in the local handballclub, Hurup HK, as a coach for two teams and as a player on the great “Dream Team”. This is what makes me come thru my hard working days!

I think everyone needs other things to do outside the office! My thing is handball! I love this sport and find both the social and competitive aspect of it doing me good.

Networking
When I moved to this city over a year ago I contacted the localclub at once. In Norway I had been a coach and referee for several years, and offered my competance to this local club as a coach.
I know that this was going to make networking a little easier. And, I was quickly teamed up with another coach who already coached a girls team. First step was made and it quickly snowballed.
I was asked to help out in a game for “Dream Team” and after that I’ve played all their matches and got to know a lot of great people from the local community.

Chasing results and improvements
As a coach I always search for improvements and chasing the best results possible at the level we’re at. I think this is making me better in my work too. I take many of the techniques from the handball with me into my work and have a clearer focus on the goals than many other workers.

Stealing time
I know many will say that the handball steals a lot of productive working time. But, I think that it’s important to get impulses from other places than work! For me it gives me a real good kick and a really positive motivation to succeed with the handball.

Handball is my kind of fuel. What is yours? And, do you think it’s possible to work 24/7 without having any other interests to take part in?
